African Jade

(also called Transvaal jade) is a misnomer for massive green grossularite garnet. It is not jade, but does look like jade. It can be light green, white, or pink.

Aquamarine
 Country of Origin: Brazil
In Egypt and Greece soldiers wore this aquamarine to give them courage. This stone was also believed to grant domestic tranquility by causing differences to be reconciled.
 

Aragonite
Country of Origin: Spain
Aragonite is a soft gemstone, often formed near mineral springs. It derives its name from the River Aragon in Spain, where it was named in 1788.
